The Council’s Employment Support Team manages the Ways2Work network and website, www.ways2work.org.uk that supports people who are looking for work in the City and the services that support them. Joining is free and there are daily updates as they receive information from employers who are seeking to recruit to positions to keep the key services running, together with updates from a variety of sources promoting health and wellbeing, welfare advice, support with job hunting, support for small businesses and the self-employed etc. They are also planning to host their first “Virtual” – on line Jobs fair in the near future and are currently working with a number of employers.

Furthermore, the Employment Support Team can offer one to one support for people who are either in work and on low pay, are at risk of losing their job or are unemployed. Details of how to contact them can be found on the Ways2work.org.uk website. The programmes remain open for business and they can offer support through a range of technologies, rather than face to face.
